Lawnscaping Challenge #98: Create a Background

Hello everybody!

I hope anyone up in the Northeast isn't getting hit too hard by the Snowmageddon!  We're just getting a lot of cold rain here in Virginia.  Today I decided to make a Valentine's card for the Lawnscaping Challenge #98

This challenge is all about creating a fun background for your cards using stamps.  I made my background by using the Lawn Fawn "Into the Woods" stamp set to create love-themed arrows that are cute enough for Cupid to use!  I stamped the two ends of the arrows slightly separated from each other and then added little pink hearts to the middle of each arrow.

Then I used the adorable "Sending Hedgehugs" stamp set to create two darling little hedgehogs who are falling in love! I finished it off with the Lawn Fawn "Scripty Love" die cut and "Milo's ABCs" for a custom sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Have a Heart

Hello everyone!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This challenge is all about love, which is fitting because I absolutely LOVE my new heart stencil that I used for the card.

To create the background, I made pink embossing paste with distress inks (Pickled Raspberry and Spun Sugar).  I embossed the heart stencil starting with the darkest shade of pink embossing paste at the top and ending with the lightest shade to create an ombre effect.

I stamped the postcard on vellum and embossed in white and stamped the sentiment.  I made two small holes on the side of the vellum and used twine to attach the vellum to the background.  After coloring the bunny and umbrella I adhered them to the card with glue.  I finished the card with clear glitter on the umbrella.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely day!

Happy Hello featuring Mama Elephant + Altenew

Hello friends!  Today is certainly a happy day for me...my husband has the next two days completely off (which doesn't happen often).  Wahoo!

I have two happy-inspired cards to share with you that I made featuring the Happy Everything stamp set from Mama Elephant and the Painted Flowers stamp set from Altenew.

The flowers are stamped with three shades of pink ink (Bubblegum, Lollipop, and Plumberry by Mama Elephant).

I embossed the "happy" script die cut with liquid platinum embossing powder by Ranger and added the coordinating sentiment.

I really love the Happy Everything stamp set!  It is so versatile and I decided to make another card.

I finished the card off with 6mm pink sequins from the Sweetheart sequins mix from Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Thanks Snow Much

Hi friends and Happy 2015!  Hope everyone had a great holiday!  I really enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but it is now time to get back to reality.  On a happier note, I have a card to share with you that I made for the current Lawnscaping Challenge #97.

The challenge is to design a winter-themed project using some beautiful Pinterest-inspired images.  I love this idea because I'm not ready to put away my holiday stamps yet.  I came up with a playful thank you card perfect for winter:

I started by making the snowy background with distress inks (Faded Jeans and Evergreen Bough).  After inking the background, I used white embossing paste with the Falling Snow stencil.

I knew I wanted to partially die cut the snowman and bird.  This was my first attempt at partial die cutting (my friend Lizzy has a great video tutorial on this technique) and it was fun!  I can't wait to try it again!

After stamping and coloring the snowman and bird, I embossed the thanks sentiment and snowflakes with iridescent embossing powder to add some shimmer to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and happy crafting!
