Lawnscaping Challenge #102: Distress Addicts

Hello friends and Happy Sunday!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the current Lawnscaping Challenge.

This challenge is all about adding distress products to your project to create texture.  I have been wanting to try the "bokeh effect" technique for a while and after being inspired by Mandy's card, I thought this effect would be fun for the challenge.  Here is my card:

For the background, I used my watercolor brush and added three distress inks (Pickled Raspberry, Spun Sugar, and Squeezed Lemonade) to watercolor paper.  After filling in most of the background, I splattered some water on the background.  Once completely dry, I used some circle stencils that I made from various sizes of round die cuts and randomly colored in areas with white pigment ink to create the "bokeh effect".

I used the same distess inks to color balloons from Lawn Fawn's Party Balloons die set.  I colored and die cut the critters from Lawn Fawn's Happy Easter set. I created an Easter-inspired birthday sentiment using the Quinn's ABCs and Happy Everything stamp sets.  Finishing off the card, I  scattered some sequins from the Pink Lemonade sequin mix by Neat and Tangled.

I hope you enjoy my card!

Lawnscaping Challenge #101: Dots and Stripes

Hey crafty friends!  Today I have a card that I made for the current Lawnscaping Challenge #101.

I just got in my Let's Polka Mon Amie paper pack so I knew I had to play along.  Here is the card I made:

I thought paper piercing would be a fun technique for this challenge.  I used the large and small sunflower stamps from Lawn Fawn's Our Friendship Grows stamp set.

I stamped and cut out the middle part of the flower in a different color.  I adhered the flowers and leaves to the card, and trimmed off the edges.

I finished the card off with a birthday sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Scripty Sayings.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
